MeiMei regularly runs Chinese dance and storytelling workshops for both children and adults at a variety of venues across the UK.

Some recent feedback from MeiMei's workshops:

The high point of our whole school Chinese Arts Week was when MeiMei worked with each of the classes in turn, from Reception to Year 6, on story-telling through Chinese Dance! All of the boys and girls were immediately hooked by her demonstration dances and her gymnastic skills. They showed remarkable concentration and focus in learning the steps for the Dragon Dance and the Butterfly Dance. We particularly liked the way in which MeiMei taught steps and linked them together through a "story" which made it easy for the children to remember the dance as a whole. She made us all look fantastic!

On behalf of my colleagues and ALL the children in Year 6, I wanted to say thank you for a lovely morning of story telling and dance. It was a perfect prelude to our trip to China Town the day after your visit.

The teachers that heard your telling of the Ox Boy and the Weaver said that it was very moving... not a sound in the house or a dry eye!

I have noted a little extra grace amongst the girls after their butterfly dance and the boys feel that they have actually danced with a ribbon; thank you for inspiring us!

Just wanted to say thanks again for your dancing session with the children this morning. It really was magical and the children haven't stopped talking about it all day-in fact neither have the staff. In October 2009, Mei Mei ran some workshops with groups of Early Years, Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children from settings and schools in Urban Swale.  Her dances were an absolute delight and completely entranced the children. She was very focused and the way she engaged their attention and then led them into watching her fan, butterfly and plate dances. She was highly professional and at the same time approachable and adaptable, so that the dances she did and the way she included the children was perfectly matched to the diverse groups who attended.  It's not easy to perform to such young children, and even harder to perform with them, but Mei Mei accomplished both superbly. I warmly recommend her to any schools, settings or other similar organisations considering booking a session from her.
